The starting point for the project is tablet weaving, a historical technique used to create narrow woven bands. In the past, these bands were used as elements of clothing, ties and practical textile straps. Today, they are associated mainly with folklore, historical reenactment and traditional craft. BONDS takes them beyond this context. The handwoven band returns to everyday use and becomes the main element of a dog collar. In the project, the bands are woven from cotton and combined with BioThane, a material widely used in dog accessories. This combination brings together the individual character of handwoven textile with the durability needed for everyday use. Each collar is made by hand, so small variations in the weave are a natural part of the making process BONDS is currently being developed and will be available soon.
